John Hill thanks Linnaeus for a letter [this letter has not come down to us].
Hill is eager to oblige Linnaeus. The new impression of his book [Hill refers to his Virtues of British Herbs] will be finished in ten days, and it has taken more time than expected. Hill will deliver a complete set to Gerhard Gustaf Adam Nolcken, whose care he knows from before. He hopes Nolcken will be able to forward them to Sweden before the seasonal interruption of the mail service and that it avoids the dangers of sea transport. If it were to be lost, Hill will send another set.
Hill wishes Linnaeus a long and glorious life.
