Giovanni Battista Bassi has received a letter [presumably Ferdinando Bassi to Linnaeus 31 December 1769{L4308}] addressed to Linnaeus from Ferdinando Bassi, which he has been asked to forward. Bassi is glad for the opportunity to write to Linnaeus.
Bassi asks Linnaeus to acknowledge receipt of the letter, so that he can write to his nephew and show that he has done what he has promised. Linnaeus is also welcome to send his letters to Ferdinando Bassi, through Bassi, who will do his best to see that they reach their addressee properly.
