Binding: Dark brown calfskin binding, Germany, signed with an ink stamp on the inside of the lower cover: Restauriert durch S. Heiland Stuttgart 1968. Size: 315 x 235 x 67 mm.
Dark brown calfskin binding over square edged wooden boards. Two metal hook-clasp fastenings at fore-edge, hooks possibly from former binding. Rounded spine. Tight back with six raised double bands. Blind-tooled library code at the tail of the back. Former edge trimming preserved. Single parchment flyleaves, plain separate paper pastedowns. Front pastedown from former binding. All along two-on sewing on six double cords laced through the boards. Textblock with some restorations. The manuscript is kept in a drop front box of black cloth.

Eight illuminated Calendar scenes May to December f. 140r - 141v; Numerous multicoloured initials in red, blue, green and mauve: 2 large intarsiated historiated initials with extending flourishes 6 lines in height on f. 1r and 61v; 24 medium sized historiated or inhabited intarsiated initials with somewhat more restricted flourishes: ff. 24r, 26v, 32v, 33r, 37r, 38r, 44v, 52r, 62v, 66r, 70r, 76r, 86r, 88v, 94v, 96v, 99r, 118r, 125r, 128r, 128v, 130r, 132v; and 405 smaller initials 2-3 lines in height, with restricted flourishes and filling either of human faces, animals or leaf decoration. Also a secondary exlibris in the bas de page on f. 1r
Detailed description:
f. 1r Intarsiated historiated initial "TH" , 6 lines in height, in red, blue and brown, with leafy border, with a standing king in blue and red holding a sword and lifting his right hand in a speaking gesture, against a yellow background. Ex libris: strawberries (Franciscans in Stockholm).
4r Intarsiated initial M in red and blue, four lines in height, with restricted flourishes in blue and red. In left compartment against yellow background, a standing king clad in green, holding a book; in right compartment a leaf ornament in violet, blue and green.
24r Intarsiated initial F in red and blue with inscribed blessing hand.
26v Intarsiated initial S, five lines in height, with two amphisbenae crouching in the curvatures.
32v Intarsiated initial "TH", four lines in height, with delicately rendered amphisbena.
33r Small intarsiated initial "TH" three lines in height, with human face in quarter profile.
37r Small intarsiated initial "TH" in green and mauve with rampant lion against yellow background.

The body of the letter inred and blue, with the middle shaft in green and mauve. Leafy borders in red and blue with small animals' heads the mouths of which leaves and pen flourishes protrude. In the arches of the M stands the king Magnus to the right, facing right, holding a book in one hand and lifting the other in a speaking gesture. Behind or beside him stands the queen with both hands raised. Both figures are clad in red and blue against a yellow background.
62v Intarsiated initial F, four lines in height, with frontal human face, possibly Christ, although without nimbus.
70r Large intarsiated and historiated initial "TH", six lines in height, in red and blue, with leafy border in red, blue and green. Inhabited by a standing armed soldier in chain-mail suit, helmet and a green mantle, holding a sword and a shield with a coat of arms; nettle leaf with six dots.
76 r Intarsiated initial "TH" , five lines in height, with two young men, one in red the other in blue, involved in a physical argument.

140v July with man facing left clad in red with a blue scythe. August with a young man clad in blue with red hoses and wide-brimmed hat cutting crop with a sickle.
141r September with a bearded man clad in red with blue hoses, picking red bunches of grapes from a green vine. October with a young man in blue, spreading the seeds from a wooden bucket held with a rope around the neck.
141v November with a man in red and a white hood, in the action of slaughtering a brown pig with the blunt end of an axe. December with a man dressed in blue with afashionable head gear, holding a bowl of hot soup (or beer) in his right hand and a pitcher in his left.
