Abstract
This is a complete work of Nava'i's famous work, completed by him in 880/1475-1476 (f. 408b). According to the normal sequence of the poems contained in the Khamse part 5 ought to be part 4. The present inconsequence has to be ascribed to an error of the bookbinder. It is furthermore shown by the fact that f. 331 contains the end formula of the ms. and the name of the copyist. On ff. 409-410a various specimens of Persian poetry; on ff. 5 and 410b specimen of Eastern Turki poetry. Cf. Prov 127, 239, 259, 422, 449, 514, 449
Notes
No date indicated, but the general appearance of the ms. would indicate 18th century. On the label mentioned below the year 1117/1705-1706 which may point out the date. Copyist on f. 331: Molla Alim Yarkandi. Copied in Yarkand.
Ownership:
On f. 6a a partly blotted out note with the name of a former owner: This is a book belonging to the Bek of Marghelan. On f. 1a another owner's mark -or may be the same: Emin Hakim Beg's book. A label pasted on to the front cover is inscribed ... and the year 1117. Acquired in the 1930's in Kashghar by Rev. Gustaf Ahlbert.
