Abstract
Old number 144. A Persian manuscript. The title is given in different incorrect forms on f. 1a, 1 b and 174a. it is no doubt the ... of Ilah-yar ibn Ilah-quli bukhari, according to Edwards, A Catalogue of the Persian Printed Books in the British Museum (1922) p. 286 a Hanafi treatise in verse on the Moslem creed and rites. The whole treatise is in poetical form. Other copies: Zetterstéen 373 (defective); Prov. 82, 231
Notes
On f. 1a a poem in Eastern Turki which gives the whole history of the present copy. The copyist finished the book in 1289/1872-1873, on the 9th of the month of Rajab. The owner of the book for whom, no doubt, the book was copied, is one Niaz Akhond, who masters both Arabic and Persian. The name of the copyist is stated to be Ahmad Akhond, a name that occurs also on f. 174a in the end formulas which are all worded in Eastern Turki.
Ownership:
On f. 140a a seal impression. Bought from Rev. Oskar Hermansson who acquired the ms. in Kashghar in the 1920's.
