Pietro Arduino had sent a letter [Arduino to Linnaeus, 25 March 1761{L3017}] to Linnaeus four months earlier where he had promised Linnaeus dried specimens of plants. With this letter, he sends those plants, and he repeats his request to Linnaeus to help him to distinguish those that are new, those that have already been published, etc.
Arduino has kept drawings and descriptions of them all so he can easily relate Linnaeus’s answers to the plants, and he has other specimens available for the printed publication, where he will make proper credit to Linnaeus.
