Peter Collinson is glad that Linnaeus has recovered, which Linnaeus’s pupil Combles had told him
Collinson has written letters to Linnaeus about swallows and to congratulate Linnaeus on his new honours, but Linnaeus seems to have forgotten him. Collinson has not heard from Linnaeus for ages, but Collinson supposes that may be due to his sickness. Now, that Linnaeus has recovered, Collinson hopes he will receive a letter from Linnaeus soon.
Collinson is glad that Linnaeus’s son [Carl Linnaeus the Younger ] has been chosen to succeed his father.
Collinson is sure that John Ellis has sent Linnaeus his treatise on the “Sea Pen” [Penna marina] [Collinson refers to ”An account of the sea pen, or Pennatula phosphorea of Linnaeus"], otherwise Collinson would have sent it.
Collinson apologizes for misprints in this letter, which is written in some haste.
P.S. Collinson mentions that he was promised a copy of the new edition of Systema naturae, 10th edition two years ago. However, he has not yet received it, and he hopes that it has not been lost in the mail.
