Quite recently Clas Alströmer got the enclosed letter from Andreas Källström, a Royal Gardener, who is now in Kensington, London. From Anne Monson’s Catalogue, Linnaeus is invited to make a list of selected herbs likely to survive in our climate. Alströmer is prepared to send it to Källström. Alströmer also suggests that Linnaeus should make a list of plants for the Uppsala University Botanical Garden, to be sent by Alströmer. He also wants Kallström’s letter in return after Linnaeus has read it.
The following day Engelbert Gother will go from Stockholm to Uppsala for a few days. Alströmer would be grateful if Gother could bring with him agreed pot of Alstroemeria, and in addition to that Alströmer lady Monson’s catalogue, when Linnaeu has gone through it.
Alströmer thanks for the seeds from Alstroemeria, some of which he sent to James Lee in England.
Finally, he wants to know the species of Mesembryanthemum, which is used in Spain for making soda.
