Peter Collinson had written to Linnaeus in September, 1748 [Collinson refers to his letter, dated 14 October 1748{L5407}], and sent him parts 9, 10 and 11 of Mark Catesby’s The Natural history of Carolina. The price of the books was 5 pounds, 5 shillings. Linnaeus has not answered Collinson nor sent him the money, but Collinson is still a sincere friend of Linnaeus’s and sends him some seeds for the garden.
P.S. Collinson reports that the box of seeds had been left the same day with Tobias Björk, who would send it by the first ship.
