Linnaeus thanks the secretary at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences [Kungliga Svenska Vetenskapsakademien, Pehr Wilhelm Wargentin] for engaging himself in the Clerck case [Linnaeus refers to the efforts, made by Wargentin and other members of the Academy, to support the publishing of Carl Alexander Clerck’s Icones insectorum rariorum].
Linnaeus encloses a dissertation [presumably Opobalsamum declaratum in dissertatione medica] and asks the Secretary to send it to Johann David Michaëlis with regards from Linnaeus.
Linnaeus thanks the Secretary for his promise to borrow the latest transactions [it is unclear which transactions Linnaeus means], so that he can insert new observations at their right places [Linnaeus presumably refers to his updating of the Systema naturae, 12th edition].
