Linnaeus thanks the Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences [Kungliga Svenska Vetenskapsakademien, i.e., Pehr WilhelmWargentin] for the letter from Pehr Kalm [presumably Kalm to Linnaeus, 10 September 1749{L1040}], but he wishes to see the other two letters from Kalm to the Academy, and the letter to Carl Gustaf Tessin.
Linnaeus assures the Secretary that he will do his utmost so Bengt Ferrner receives one of the two grants [from the Wrede scholarship].
In a week’s time the examination will take place, and after that the voting.
Pehr Löfling is not interested: he can receive a grant another time. Linnaeus is also thankful for the promise given by Claes Ekeblad.
Linnaeus has discussed Ferrner with friends and colleagues, and they all promise to vote for him. His project must be supported.
Linnaeus thanks for the transactions [presumably the transactions of the Academy of Sciences].
