Linnaeus tells Pehr Elvius that the thermometer has arrived in time for doing observations for the dissertation about the Uppsala University Botanical garden [Hortus upsaliensis].
It was good work and Linnaeus will arrange for payment.
All the three observations [Linnaeus refers to an article about Festuca ovina, fårgräs or fårsvingel (in Swedish), an illustration to his article “Swenskt höfrö” and a description of tätgräs (in Swedish)] will be delivered [to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences [Kungliga Svenska Vetenskapsakademien]; Linnaeus is waiting for the draftsman [Filip Jakob Thelott], who has a pain in his hand; otherwise it would have been done already.
Statement on an observation [Linnaeus refers to Anders Hellant’s ”Berättelse om laxens alstrande”] sent to him, will soon be studied.
P.S. Linnaeus wants Elvius to tell Abraham Bäck that he cannot receive an answer until the end of the term.
