Abraham Argillander begins his letter by thanking Linnaeus for marks of favour and for supervision during Argillander’s recent visit to Uppsala. He encloses a herb from Borgå, which he found together with Johan Borgström. He is uncertain of its origin, but it has to be a Draba. A Curculio, found on Cicuta, was also demonstrated to him by Borgström. He was told that in Åbo, Pehr Adrian Gadd, had given this beetle to a calf, that instantly died. Maybe it is related to the weevil, which causes the disease “Stäckran” [in Swedish] on horses.
