Sten Carl Bjelke expresses his deep gratitude for Linnaeus’s proof of friendship and his favours to Kalm.
Bjelke further discusses the plans for Kalm’s future, but leaves it for Linnaeus to decide.
Bjelke congratulates Linnaeus on the magnificent collection from Ceylon, and thanks for the honour to have a Ceylonese grass named Bielkea.
Concerning Johann Georg Siegesbeck, Bielke will not in any way defend him, but states that it is only through Siegesbeck that they can acquire a share in what Georg Wilhelm Steller has brought from Kamchatka and America.
In an addendum, Bjelke hopes that Siegesbeck’s seeds have arrived. There has been a long delay, while Bielke was waiting for an answer to the request for a post-free transaction. He has reported to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences [Kungliga Svenska Vetenskapsakademien] about that.
