Abraham Argillander sends a few herbs from Finland collected last summer. He has also seen the new Elatine in Åbo, as well as Pulsatilla in Tavastland and Holloa, Orchis in the forests around Nyland, Cypripedium in Savolax and Cuopio, Neotia [Neottia] in the same places, Sonchus in Tavastland and Hollola at Lake Wesijärvi, Prenanthes at Abbor Fors.
Centaurea calycibus ciliatis ciliis reflexis has been found in Nyland and Tavastland and is one of the most common species there.
Argillander tells the story about Johan Daniel Alopaeus in Laeppaevirta, who in 1744 sowed a dessert almond. It was moved 1747 close to a cherry tree, that perished by frost, but not the newly planted almond! It flowered twice in 1749, and during the entire summer in 1750. The leaves and the flowers could be Amygdalus.
