Ignaz von Born thanks Linnaeus for a letter [this letter has not come down to us] in which he had acknowledged Born’s sending of fossils.
Born will soon publish a small work on fossils [Lithophylacium Bornianum], and he will dedicate it to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences [Kungliga Svenska Vetenskapsakademien, Stockholm]. Born asks Linnaeus to indicate what species he would be interested in, so that Born could send them to him.
Born also has several new minerals in his collection, and some of those are included in the new publication Johan Jacob Ferber can tell Linnaeus more. Born has given Ferber more than 600 mineralogical specimens which he has collected himself, and Born supposes that Ferber has the richest and most elegant collection of minerals in Sweden.
