Abstract
The title of the book on f. 1a: The name of this book is Tarikh-i-Hamidi. [The history of] the Tungans, of the Khojas in Kuchar, the haji-king of Khotan, bali Khan Turam of Kashghar, the Tungan Abdu-r-Rahman of Yarkand, of Bidaulat also called Yaqub Beg. The author is according to f. 1a Mulla Musa ibn Mulla Isa Khodja Sairami. The author is obviously the same Mulla Musa who is the author of the Tarikh-i-Amnija (ed. by N. N. Pantusov, Kazan, 1896), but as the title indicates quite another redaction. Cf. further Muginov No. 27; Dmitrieva, Muginov and Muratov, Opisanie tjurkskich rukopisej Instituta narodov Azii (1965), I. No 145; Tickonov, D., "Uigurskie istoricheskie rukopisi kontsa XIX i nachala XX v.", Uchenye zapiski Instituta Vostokovedeniia, No 9 (1954), p. 159 et seq; Kim, Ho-dong, Holy War in China (Stanford, California 2004), p. 266. Cf. Prov. 115-117, 197, 478;
According to a letter from Hodong Kim to Gunnar Jarring of February 29, 1985 (Lund University Library), there is a short treatise on ff. 124b-134a on the history of Eastern Turkestan from the reconquest down to 1927. This is not part of Tarikh-i Hamidi, and its title is Kashghar Ma Taitaining vaqi 'asidur. It was written by Hajji Ghulam Muhammad Khan Khwajam b. Shaykh Purshah Sahib Hazratim in the month of 'Id Qurban, 1345 A.H. (June 2, 1927 - July 11, 1927). These facts indicate that Tarikh-i Hamidi was copied during the month of 'Id Qurban, 1345 A.H., and that Hajji Ghulam Muhammad Khan Khwajam might be the copyist.
