Nicolaus Joseph von Jacquin expresses thanks for the latest letter (2 July 1771{L4528}) with Linnaeus’s opinion on the plates sent. Jacquin continues the discussion on several of them, where he is not satisfied with how matters stand. Thus, Jacquin discusses, among others, Sempervivum hirtum, Phaseolus inamoenus, the mushroom and Muria chrysolampis, of which Jacquin possesses several species.
A number of new plates are sent, with definite questions on Linnaeus’s opinion. Among those treated, more details are given on Tragopogon, Sempervivum, Ligustrum and Cnicus.
Jacquin asks for suggestions on new plants worthy of being included in his work. Especially, seeds of varieties of Sinapis are welcome.
