Containing two works of Mir Ali Sir Navai; 1) ff. 3b-70a The fourth poem of Navai's Khamza, cf Rieu p. 292, 293; 2) ff. 71b-178a The fifth poem of Navai's Khamza, cf. Rieu p. 292. On f. 71a a note obviously written before the binding of the ms. as some of the text has got lost when cutting the pages; Cf. Prov. 107:1, 153, 213, 314, 330, 379
Notes
f. 71a: The book was read by the Molla Mahmoud akhan of Yarkand between the 16th of Safar until the 7th of Rabi ul avval 1337 and evidently continued in a saray in Kashghar. The owner of the book is Jamal ud-din from Guma. On f. 178b some jottings. No date, but the note on f. 71a indicates a date earlier than 1337/1918-1919 and the incomplete note on f. 70b a date earlier than 1881.
Ownership:
Acquired by David Gustafsson in Yarkand and sold to Gunnar Jarring in the 1930's.
Acquisition:
The ms. was part of the Jarring collection of Eastern Turkistan manuscripts donated to the Lund University Library in 1982.
