Abstract
Extracts from Nava'i's Khamse. Cf. Prov. 127, 239, 247, 422, 449, 514. Contents; 1) ff. 3b- 10b An incomplete copy of ...; 2) ff. 11a-46b An incomplete copy of ...; These two extracts are evidently of different age and written by different copyists. At the end of the volume five loose leaves, torn out from some other Nava'i'-manuscript and completely unconnected with the present volume
Notes
Date: probably 17th century.
Ownership:
On f. 40b an inscription in a different handwriting and evidently unconnected with the present manuscript giving the year 1267/1850-1851, according to Moghul time-reckoning, the year of the hare, the 29th of the month of Ara, written by Niaz Khodja of Qumbash. The manuscript once belonged to Rev. Lars Erik Högberg of the Swedish Mission of Kashghar. A rubber stamp with his name on f. 3a. Acquired from his widow, Mrs Sigrid Högberg, by Gunnar Jarring.
Acquisition:
The ms. was part of the Jarring collection of Eastern Turkistan manuscripts donated to the Lund University Library in 1982.
