Abstract
Old number 84. An Eastern-Turki manuscript. A treatise containing instructions and advice how to act when performing the ritual ablutions (ghosl, taharat), for prayers (namaz), fast (roze), marriage (nikah) etc. These rules are given in great detail, e.g. what to do when meat gets stuck between one's teeth (f. 53a), or when sneezing or coughing. Rules for correct behaviour given under the different headings. The title of the book is to be found on f. 1b (partly blotted out), on f. 75b and on a label pasted on to the front cover. The author is probably (cf. the Tashkent catalogue, Vol. 5, p. 379) 'Abd ul-'Ali bin Muhammad al-Husain al-Birdjendi who wrote a treatise called ..., containing commentaries and rules of a similar kind. The present manuscript is evidently the Turki translation of only a part of Birdjendi's treatise. End is missing
