Linnaeus has received plants, and he thanks all three men who sent them, [Pehr Osbeck, Olof Torén, Christopher Henrik Braad]. Linnaeus does not have time to write to them separately, since he has been summoned to Drottningholm somewhat urgently, so he asks Osbeck to forward his thanks to the other two.
Linnaeus thinks that Osbeck has performed very well as a collector. Osbeck has given him almost as much as Pehr Kalm did.
However, he asks Osbeck to give him what details he may have from his examination of living specimens of several of the plants. He says what specimens he is most interested in, and has detailed questions about a couple of them.
Linnaeus is sure that Osbeck has seen living specimens and been able to observe something in them.
