Linnaeus writes to Carl Fredrik Mennander and tells him that he has not been able to answer his letter [this letter has not come down to us] as he has been visiting Duvald [Johan Diedric Duwall] in the country.
Linnaeus writes that it is said that the librarian Andreas Norrelius is applying for the position and that he has exerted himself to be friendly towards Linnaeus. Linnaeus writes that he finds it difficult to give Mennander advice and that he has no information from the faculty.
Linnaeus advises Mennander not to travel abroad before he has got a position, but to stay at home and look after his own interests.
Linnaeus writes that he has written to his mother-in-law [Elisabeth Hansdotter Moraea] about the girl they discussed earlier, but he has not received an answer.
Linnaeus writes that Mennander’s sister-in-law [presumably Christina Margareta Stenman] has complained to Mrs. Klingenstierna [Ulrika Klingenstierna] about how to get away from Mrs. Ihre [Sara Charlotta Ihre].
