Pehr Osbeck thanks for Linnaeus’s latest letter and answers some questions from Linnaeus. He mentions that none of the 49 specimens from Java are mixed with the Chinese specimens with the same numbers.
Osbeck goes on to explain and answer questions from Linnaeus on 37 numbered specimens. He often cites the question and gives his short answer in botanical Latin.
Osbeck is sending, with Riccard [presumably Christian Frideric Rickhardt] and Holmsten [presumably Jonas Holmsten], about 170 Chinese and Spanish plants and some fragile specimens, filled with Chinese mosses and other things. Sagittaria esculenta is also included.
P.S Osbeck adds that he is also sending a grass from China and some more plants, and he wants Linnaeus to tell him the names of all the plants.
