Linnaeus had received the package of plants from Hamburg three weeks previously and the letter [Domenico Vandelli to Linnaeus 16 September{L3636}] two weeks previously. After that, a fire had devastated a third of Uppsala. Linnaeus’s house had escaped unharmed, but Linnaeus had had to move all his collections and things to his country estate for some time. Now, things are getting back in order again.
Linnaeus tells Vandelli which of the plants received that were new to him.
