Binding:
Binding by Jacob Bathen. Brown calfskin over pasteboards, with blind and panel-stamped decoration.
Decor:
On both covers: A Spes panel. A female figure with her hands folded across her breast beholding a cross in the clouds, adjoined by the words "Meritum Chisti." At her left shoulder is "Spes," from which the panel takes its name, and she stands on a pedestal inscribed "Fides," with "Charitas" next to the pedestal on the right. On the panel is a passage in Latin from Psalm 70. The surrounding legend reads: "Quoniam in me speravit liberabo eum protegam eum quo- Psal. 90".
