Condition:
The leather of the binding worn, especially on the edges and corners of the covers. Throughout the manuscript numerous stains of ink and damp; many leaves slightly darkened by spilled water, thumbed corners.
Foliation:
Later foliation at the upper right corner in pencil. Original pagination at the upper corner by the scribe а҃-чѯ҃д on ff. 1r-232v.

Provenance:
From the collection of Johan Gabriel Sparvenfeldt (1655–1727). It is possible that Sparwenfeld received the manuscript from Olaf Barckhusen (dead 1687), Kotošichin’s colleague and friend, who translated the Chronicle into Swedish.

Brown leather on cardboard, size 200×150. The front and back covers identical: a frame of triple fillets intersecting at the corners. Spine with three raised bands framed by triple fillets, headband and tailband. Front and back pastedown; five front and six back flyleaves. Edges sprinkled in red.
Decoration
Vjaz´ on f. 1r and decorated initial, decorative flourishes at the end of the text and the end of the index.
